Our Story

Azarakitchen is more than a restaurant; it is a testament to the incredible journey of Ousmane Compaore and his deep love for his mother, Azara. Born and raised in Burkina Faso , Ousmane’s passion for cooking blossomed as he assisted his mother in their village kitchen. Together, they created the beloved dish Bainga, a symbol of their bond. In 2003 Ousmane and his mother moved to Italy to join his father. It was there that Ousmane’s culinary skills flourished, and he discovered his dream of owning a restaurant. In 2013, he embarked on a new adventure, leaving everything behind to pursue his aspirations in New York City.

Starting from humble beginnings as a dishwasher, Ousmane worked his way up the ranks in the restaurant industry, absorbing knowledge and honing his craft. throughout his journey , his mother’s teachings and love for cooking remained his guiding light.

In 2020 Ousmane’s dream became a reality with the opening of Azarakitchen.This establishment not only showcases his talent but also pays homage to his mother’s influence. Every dish on the menu is a fusion of traditional West African flavors and Ousmane’s own creative touch. Azarakitchen stands as a testament to the power of love, family, and unwavering determination.
